The Penfield Chamber is one of several area chambers hosting the Eastside Business Expo and Networking Extravaganza September 17, 2013 at the Penfield Country Club on Jackson Road. The event will run from 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM.

Admission is free, however, advance registration is required and you must present a business card with your name printed on. All others will be $5.00 at the door. Register for the Expo now.

Exhibit tables are available for $45 each or $35 each when reserved prior to June 30, 2013. Delicious hors d’oeuvres will be served and a cash bar will be available. There are a limited number of exhibit tables available, so please reserve yours ASAP. Limit one table per business. Payments for exhibit tables should be made out to Penfield Chamber and mailed to PO Box 545, Penfield, NY 14526. Payments can also be sent via PayPal to payments@PenfieldChamber.org.

Former Ford & Xerox Executive to Speak to the Penfield Chamber

LUNCH & LEARN

George Cook, Former Ford & Xerox Executive and current Executive Professor of Business Administration at the Simon School of Business at University of Rochester will be speaking at a Lunch & Learn, Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at the Penfield Country Club.

Mr. Cook was employed by the Ford Division of the Ford Motor Company for 10 years in various marketing and management assignments both in the operations side of the business and in the Headquarters Marketing Staff.

 He recently retired from the Xerox Corporation after 30 years of service in numerous sales, marketing and customer service assignments including: district manager, division manager, industry marketing, general manager, customer services marketing, division manager of national account service and marketing manager, TeleBusiness.

 He has served as a president of the Rochester, N.Y., chapter of the American Marketing Association and serves on the new business books review board of the Journal of Consumer Marketing. Cook has recently completed a marketing case study on “JOLT, America’s Original Energy Drink!” that should be published soon. He has served as a member of the Business Advisory Council for the John Wiley School of Business at SUNY Geneseo. He was a member of the R.I.T. President’s Speakers Bureau and speaks on the subjects of quality, customer satisfaction, customer services marketing, affinity marketing and telebusiness.

Chamber Seeks Nominations for its 2012 Citizen and Business of the Year Awards

The Penfield Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations for its 2012 Penfield Citizen of the Year and Penfield Business of the Year awards. The awards will be presented at the Chamber’s annual awards luncheon on Wednesday, October 17th at the Penfield Country Club.

The Citizen of the Year award honors an individual resident of Penfield in recognition of their personal contribution toward making the Penfield community a better place to live and work. The Business of the Year award recognizes the contributions and impact a business located in Penfield has had on the Penfield Community.

Speed Networking returns to Penfield March 21st

Join us at the March 21st meeting of the Penfield Chamber of Commerce for Speed Networking. You will have an opportunity to meet and promote your business one-on-one to all of the other people at the meeting. In place of a speaker, we will have a speed networking session following lunch.

The meeting will be at 12:00 noon at the Penfield Country Club. Cost is just $20 for Chamber members and $35 for non-members. Advance reservations are required and can be made online soon.

Business of the Year:  Dick Ide

Dick Ide Honda is a family owned and operated Honda Dealership located on Panorama Trail. The business was started in 1969, when Dick Ide opened his first dealership in Fairport. In 1973 he added the Honda franchise. A few years later, in 1977, he moved both dealerships to the current location on Panorama Trail. In 1984, Dick’s oldest son, Mitch Ide, opened Mitch Ide’s Ideal Chevy-Olds-Geo in Geneseo. Along with his wife, Anne, they ran the dealership until selling it in 2000. In 2007 Mitch took on responsibility for the Honda dealership from his father and has been involved in daily operations. Dick Ide Honda truly is family business. Mitch is the owner, Anne is the CFO, their son, Rich is the marketing director, and Rich’s wife, Stephanie, is in charge of Customer Relations. Both Rich and Stephanie have been featured in television commercials for the dealership.

Citizen of the Year: Channing Philbrick

Channing Philbrick served as Penfield Town Supervisor for five terms (1994-2003). Prior to serving as Town Supervisor, he served as a member of the Town Board for eight years. He also served as a member of the Genesee Transportation Council, Monroe County Council of Governments and various other local and national organizations. He is one of the original founders of the Shepherd Home and currently serves as Chairman of the Board. Chan is a licensed private pilot and has been a member of the Rochester Flying Club since 1996, where he served on the Board and as President. Chan has been married to his wife, Marie, for more than 55 years. They have four children: Elizabeth McHugh, Channing P., Robert and David.
